Got my new imagine FX today, watched a vid on the disc that comes with it of a guy painting a big old background, so I was inspired to do this, which is good cos I really need to get much better at backgrounds. Also, the woods are my favourite place to be, I'd live in them full time if I didnt have 17 kids to support

Another quick update on the dragon, its taking a good long while cos of all the detail, but its a lot of fun to do. I'm still not sure what to do with the ground, but hey, at least I might learn something in figuring it out

A Beast

So, I woke up today to a beautiful sunny day. I was nearly finished my first character drawing for an illustration competition I was definitely going to win, then when checking the site for the finished illustration sizes, I noticed it. I had misread the entry date.
Well, I wont be able to enter the competition, but hey, at least I can show you this

I will finish this particular piece, paint it up and so on, it should make a nice traditional addition to my portfolio at the very least and hell, I just love this drawing.
The competition it was for was to illustrate a new version of Beauty and the Beast.

A little more dragony...

I havent posted anything for a while, Iv been mad busy sketching and designing for an illustration competition which, should I win, will get me actual money and I can always use more of that. I did a little more on this to warm up this morning, mainly on the dragon himself. I cropped the image size because it was a bit to big and I think ill widen it a bit more at some stage, who knows. I'm fairly happy with it so far, I think once Iv sorted the ground I'll be happier over all with it, the flat blankness of it irritates me.
Anyway, I'll post lots of drawings in the near future once I'v finished the illustrations for the competition, then I'll go nuts finishing this :)
